Bakery Week 03

Week 3. Time to move on to textures. Right now everything is exported in Substance. Below you can see the UV and the bakes...

Speaking of baking. What sort of sad bakery would this be without the bread! Finally the bread is out of the oven and ready to be put out for display!

Add a few pastries!

And yes! This too has been low poly'd, UV'd, baked and put into Substance!

Finally, initial lighting in Marmoset!

Current Texturing Schedule:
-Today: Fix a couple baking issues. (Mostly the awning)
-Wednesday: Pastry Textures
-Thursday: Exterior
Saturday : Interior
Sunday: Fixes and Exports
Monday: Renders

Bakery: Halfway Point!

Here's my High Poly of my Bakery. I'm going to spend sometime, bringing some bricks forward and back, to make them less even.  The bread is currently in the oven, but I'll have it for next turn in. (I'm only making four simple pieces, and changing the color and tone on their textures to make look like white, wheat, rye, etc.)

Close ups! Making the clock was fun, and now that I have some time, I might create the hands, just to give it more dimension.

And a few shots from Maya, when I realized how hard it was to show the interior in Zbrush! And that my transparencies didn't translate when I exported it. (I'm sure you can do it in Zbrush, but this was faster, and I only have the interior visible in Zbrush for the renders.

The Bakery: Low Poly

First turn in for the Bakery! It feels like its going to be a really fun project, and I plan to recreate the watercolor style in the textures. So far I have the block out and even started working on finishing some of low poly version of some assets.

Different angles.

And I wanted to keep this as close to the original concept as possible, as seen below.

Current Schedule:
Week 1: Block Out and Start Low Poly
Week 2: Finish Low Poly, and High Poly
Week 3: UV and Textures
Week 4: Final Textures and Rendering

Bird House: Final

So, I went back and continued work on my Bird House. Here's my current final version. I may come back one day, and continue to improve it, but for now, I'm happy! I also, went ahead and created various lighting scenarios, just because I thought it'd be fun.

Day Time Version:

Sunset: (my favorite!)

And last but not least, Midnight:

Spaceship Part 5

So...I was on track to finish, but this weekend I wasn't able find as much time as I needed to work on my Spaceship. So, only half of the texturing is done, with a new, more faithful pass on the lighting. I think I'll be able to fix it up, tomorrow on Wednesday, and then I'll make a new post Thursday. I'm a little disappointed, but I think it's going to come out really great in the end!

Seeing it rendered, I think I'm going to remove some of the lines around the windows, and make them more even through the ship.

The holographic display will be displayed shortly. I promise!

Alright, that's all I got for y'all right now. Be ready for an update very soon.

Spaceship Part Three!

Third post! Here's my update for June 2nd, for the Spaceship environment.

I have fully transitioned into Substance Painter! Which means I'm still on track with my current schedule. Preliminary textures are starting. As you can see, I have also separated UV sets, so its easier to keep track of what I'm painting.

Here is a quick screen grab of the UVs. Screens are on their entirely own set, because I have a cool plan for them!

As you can see the back window have been recreated, but doesn't show up in the UVs. I realized, instead of modeling it, it would be far easier to recreate the design in substance, and add an alpha in Substance. Especially since no one will ever be able to see the outside of it. Another benefit is the fact that it saves me a ton of tris.

Another minor edition! I closed of the ship, so there is a back wall and a door. Now it is a fully 360 environment, which in theory, when I import it into Unreal Engine, a player would be able to explore it! I will decorate the back, a bit with already created assets. And possibly a monitor to two.

FINAL BAKERY

Final Renders of the Bakery. Its been fun.
